How does it work?
It’s simple, when your New Car Loan is financed through Big Sky, we’ll send you rebate vouchers. All you need to do is return a completed rebate voucher and your receipts which show the total number of litres you purchased, and at the end of each month we’ll rebate your Big Sky account 10¢ per litre.

Home Equity vs. New Car Loan
Consider this comparison of a Home equity loan and a Big Sky New Car loan to finance your new car.

Extending your mortgage through the use of a home equity loan has become a popular way to obtain finance for car purchases, but there are reasons why this option may not be the most effective way to borrow.

As a general rule of thumb, the term of a loan should not exceed the life of the asset being purchased.

The advantage of a Big Sky New Car Loan is that funds are repaid within a maximum 7 year term. When using a Home Equity Loan, borrowed funds are added to your existing mortgage loan and the repayment term may be anything up to 30 years (this example uses 15 years). The Home Equity Loan’s lower interest rate may appear to be a more attractive option, but as you can see, a longer repayment term results in a considerably higher interest expense.

If you are considering borrowing to finance a new car, contact Big Sky to discuss all the options available to you. By making an informed decision you could save yourself thousands of dollars.
