SMS One Time Passwords

We are very pleased to introduce SMS One time password (SMS OTP) to augment our existing internet banking platform.  SMS OTP provides an additional level of security when you make payments to third parties using Big Sky’s internet banking.

Firstly should you wish to make use of SMS OTP you will first need to opt in to the service.  Please see below and follow simple  instructions.

How does SMS One Time Password work?

If you are a regular user of internet banking and regularly make payments to your utility provider, insurance company or any other payee you will notice very little change and you will be able to continue to  perform these activities as you always have.

The primary difference will arise when you  wish to set up a new payee.  In this instance the platform will prompt you to request an SMS OTP which will be delivered directly to your mobile phone number registered at the time of sign up.  Once you receive the 6 digit password you enter  it into the space provided and then perform your banking as you would normally do.  The good news is that when a payee is set up you will not need a SMS OTP for future transactions to that payee.  It is as simple as that.

Between now and 15th March Big Sky encourage all members to sign up for SMS OTP.  We are also encouraging members to ensure you have established a comprehensive list of payees within internet banking so that you are ready to go when you sign up for SMS OTP.

To assist you in this process we have provided clear instructions for you to follow and a more detailed explanation on the benefits of SMS OTP as well as some Frequently Asked Questions.  Of course we are also very happy to answer any other questions you may have.  If we can assist you further please call our Member Service Team on 1300 654 321
