Moranbah Community Foundation
|
As a Big Sky community banking provider Big Sky has developed the Moranbah Community Foundation.
The Moranbah Community Foundation will contribute to the development of the Moranbah community.
A major part of Big Sky's commitment is contributing 10% of the Moranbah Service Centre's after tax profit. The funds are to be invested in community initiatives deemed relevant by the independent Community Foundation Board.
Currently Big Sky have been going through the process of establishing a Board of Seven people which will consist of two Big Sky members (one as a founding member), one from Business (or Corporate), one from Council or similar body and three members from the community.
Stay tuned for further information and developments of the Moranbah Community Foundation.

2009 Moranbah Traders Association-Excellence in Service Business Awards
|
In exciting news Big Sky’s Moranbah Service Centre has won the Financial Institution award at the Business of the Year Awards. These awards are run by the Moranbah Traders Association and winners are nominated by members of the Moranbah Community.
On Saturday the 5th September, the Moranbah Team celebrated being named Financial Institution Business of the Year. We were delighted to accept this award above worthy competitors ANZ and Wide Bay.
As the community banking provider to Moranbah, we truly value an award nominated by the Community. This recognition reassures us that our high levels of community support and involvement are having a positive impact on the people who matter to us, the community.
We would also like to recognise the achievement of Lea Anderson. Though she missed out on taking out the Service Star of the Year Award, Lea was nominated as Service Star for the month for June. This is the second time Lea has received this award, congratulations Lea!
Congratulations to the Moranbah Service Centre, Business of the Year!

What is Community Banking?
|
Community banking is an initiative where everyone benefits, you as an individual, as a family, a local business and most importantly a community.
As an individual and a family you benefit from having a wide range of products and services with very competitive interest rates and fee structure. Our staff members have been trained to put members first, so you are our number one priority.
As a local business you benefit from the introduction of merchant facilities, cash handling facilities and transactional accounts.
As a part of the community you’ll benefit from Big Sky’s support and sponsorship of community groups, events and sporting clubs.
This year we have been involved with many events in Moranbah including Moranbah Home Show, Police Charity Golf Day, 2009 Moranbah Traders Excellence in Service Business Awards, Special Children’s Christmas Party and Moranbah Miners Junior Rugby League.
The Moranbah Community Foundation is an initiative which is being introduced in Moranbah. The foundation will be run by members of the Moranbah community. We are committed to contributing 10% of the Moranbah Service Centre’s profits after tax to the Foundation. Funds from the foundation will be invested in community initiatives that are of importance to the community of Moranbah.
