Hedland

Big Sky has developed the Hedland Community Foundation to specifically contribute to the development of the Port and South Hedland communities.

A major part of Big Sky's commitment is contributing 10% of the Hedland Service Centre's after tax profit. The funds are to be invested in community initiatives deemed relevant by the independent Community Foundation Board.

Hedland’s Foundation is the most recent to have been established and has completed the appointing of board members. The community is yet to be canvassed regarding applications for funding grants, however there has been some initial work done with organisations and Aboriginal communities to co-ordinate the development and delivery of financial literacy programs.
