Young drivers get cheaper insurance premiums

Car insurance has just become more affordable for Under 25 year-olds, which is great news for Big Sky members and younger members of the family.

Allianz, one of Australia’s largest general insurers, has introduced a new insurance solution for young drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 years who have a good driving record.

Traditionally, younger drivers have found it expensive to get car insurance due to the overall accident rate among that age group. This can unfairly penalise young drivers, who have a good driving history, with higher insurance premiums.

Allianz has addressed this concern with its new insurance initiative, the Young Drivers Solution for Under 25s. Young drivers who have a good driving history, had their license for a few years and who want to insure their small to medium passenger vehicle now have a competitively priced insurance solution.

Comprehensive Motor Insurance

Allianz's Comprehensive Motor Insurance for Big Sky Members has special features designed for Members to get one of the best insurance policies available.

If your car is stolen, we’ve made sure you won’t be left stranded. You will be provided with a rental car until your vehicle is found undamaged, repaired or your claim is settled, to a maximum of 14 days.

If your vehicle is written off within two years of its original registration date Allianz will replace it with a brand new vehicle (same make, model and series) including on-road costs.

Prestige Motor Policy will even reimburse you for the cost of emergency repairs up to $500 (to get you home) and up to $1,000 towards the cost of replacing lost or stolen car keys and the necessary re-coding of your vehicles locks.

At Big Sky we pride ourselves on doing what’s best for you. Over the years we’ve enjoyed the trust you’ve placed in us. To ensure you get the best deal on your Comprehensive Motor Insurance through us, we believe you should be able to choose your own repairer at NO EXTRA COST.

Allianz gives you the choice of choosing your own repairer after an accident. Alternatively, if you don’t have a chosen repairer, leave it to Allianz and they will take care of it for you with one of their network repairers.

It eliminates the need for multiple quotes and focuses on teamwork with Allianz-recommended Repairers, Motor Assessors and Claims Technicians, all working together to provide quality service and repairs in the shortest possible time. With just one phone call to Allianz, the wheels are in motion and you are totally informed every step of the way.


Quick, convenient, efficient – just make one phone call
Allianz MRP is a one step process that not only expedites repairs; it also enables you to ask questions while the Allianz Claim Consultant gathers all necessary information onto the Allianz system. This has been found to reduce the incidence of errors and help control the repair process. The MRP begins when the claim is lodged either over the phone or with a completed Claim Form.

An alternative Claim Form
While phone claims are recommended as the quickest and most convenient way to start the repair process, you can talk to Allianz Claims Staff re: post, fax or e-mail claim forms.

Arranging the Repair Process
With Allianz Electronic Assessment Booking, you can be directed to the most suitable and convenient Network Repairer and while you’re still on the phone, you can even confirm the start date for repairs. If your car is not operational, Allianz will make the necessary arrangements for delivery to the Network Repairer.

Third Party Property Damage

Allianz’ Third Party Property Insurance will cover loss or damage to other people’s property up to $20 million if you’re at fault in an accident.

This includes loss or damage to your vehicle up to $4,000 arising from an accident caused solely by the driver of an uninsured vehicle (conditions apply).

You also have the option of adding protection against fire or theft.
